Bovine tuberculosis: Florid granulomatous lymphadenitis
Note the florid diffuse granulomatous reaction replacing the normal tissue of the lymph node. The cut surface of the inflammatory reaction reveals a solid, glistening tissue without any indication of necrosis or of encapsulation. These lesions histologically usually lack the presence of acid-fast bacillli although they are routinely cultured from this type of lesion
